NAGVA Travel Teams

The North American Gay Volleyball Association (NAGVA) is a vibrant, inclusive volleyball organization that hosts competitive tournaments across the U.S. and Canada. NAGVA offers multiple skill divisions to ensure players compete at a level that matches their experience and ability. Divisions include:

  • B Division – Recreational to intermediate level; ideal for players still developing fundamental skills and game awareness.

  • BB Division – Competitive intermediate level for players with solid fundamentals, strong teamwork, and in-game strategy.

  • BB3 / Modified A1 Division – Upper-intermediate to advanced level, bridging the gap between BB and A. Geared toward athletes with high-level skills, consistency, and court awareness who are not quite at the elite A level.

NAGVA tournaments are open to all, creating a welcoming and competitive environment for players of all backgrounds and identities.

 

Due to the incredible success of our teams in 2024, Blue Horses Volleyball is excited to announce that we will be taking three teams to each NAGVA tournament in the 2025-2026 season. To build the most competitive rosters, we host tryouts before each event. Selected athletes will participate in 3–4 practices, typically held on Sundays, with a final tune-up practice on the Thursday before the tournament weekend.

As part of our commitment to supporting our players, BHV covers approximately 50% of the tournament entry fees. Players are responsible for arranging their lodging and meals during the weekend.

NAGVA B Team

In 2024, the Blue Horses B team made a powerful statement by taking home 1st place at the Circle City Fest in Indianapolis. Competing against strong teams from across the region, the B team showcased exceptional teamwork, grit, and determination throughout the tournament. Their championship run was marked by smart plays, solid defense, and a never-give-up attitude that truly embodied the Blue Horses’ spirit. This victory not only highlighted the talent and dedication of our athletes but also set the tone for an exciting and competitive 2025 season.

NAGVA BB Team

During the 2024–2025 season, the Blue Horses BB team delivered a strong performance, finishing 3rd at the Queen City Ball NAGVA tournament in Cincinnati. Throughout the tournament, the team demonstrated solid fundamentals, strategic play, and strong team cohesion. Their top-three finish was a proud moment for the club and reflected the consistent growth of the program. After the tournament, one of our standout players, Gil, was uprated to the A division, a well-earned recognition of his skill, leadership, and impact on the court.

2025-2026 Season

NAGVA BB3 Team

To kick off the 2025–2026 NAGVA season, the Blue Horses BB3 team captured the championship title at the Music City Fest in Nashville, TN. Competing against top-tier opponents, the team displayed outstanding chemistry, advanced skill, and relentless determination. Their impressive performance not only set a high bar for the rest of the season but also earned recognition for individual excellence. Three players, Jordan, Sammy, and Gabe, were uprated to the A division following the tournament. Their success is a testament to the strength of the program and the dedication of our athletes.

NAGVA B Team

Congratulations to the Blue Horses B Team for an incredible showing at the NAGVA Labor of Love Tournament in Columbus this August. The team played with heart, skill, and teamwork throughout the weekend, earning an impressive second-place finish in a highly competitive bracket. We’re also thrilled to celebrate three players who were uprated to BB for their outstanding performance and growth: Angel Velasco, Matthew Morris, and Anderson Noble. Your dedication and hard work continue to elevate our program. Way to go, Blue Horses!

NAGVA Mod A1 Team

The Blue Horses Mod 1 Team brought home an unforgettable first-place victory. What makes this achievement even more special is that it was the very first time this group played together. From the opening serve to the final point, the team displayed incredible chemistry, adaptability, and passion, proving that true teamwork can come together quickly when there’s trust, heart, and drive. Their journey through the tournament was filled with intense rallies, strategic plays, and moments of pure determination. Leading the way was Miguel, whose outstanding performance earned him the title of Tournament MVP, and Carlos, who showcased consistent excellence and earned a spot on the All-Star Team. This win not only highlights the talent and depth of our program but also sets the tone for what’s to come.

BHV Heads into NAGVA Tournament Season

BHV is gearing up for an exciting NAGVA season with a full lineup of tournaments across the region. Our travel teams have been training hard and are ready to showcase their skills, sportsmanship, and signature Blue Horses spirit on the court. Whether you're competing, helping us in practice, or cheering us on, we can't wait to represent BHV at every stop.
