BLUE HORSES SKY (13U)
The Blue Horses 13U team represents the transition from foundational play to elevated competition. Athletes at this level continue refining their ball control, serving consistency, serve-receive patterns, and defensive positioning while developing a stronger understanding of offensive systems and game strategy.

Our coaching staff challenges players to increase their volleyball IQ, communicate with purpose, and take ownership of their development. Emphasis is placed on teamwork, leadership, and a competitive mindset. The 13U team competes with intensity while continuing to build the technical and mental skills necessary for long-term success.
Coach Taylor’s love for volleyball started early, growing up with a dad who played and helped shape her “volley-morals.” The game has always been a vital part of her life, influencing not only how she plays but also how she leads and teaches others. She played school and club volleyball for over 10 years and still competes recreationally in Lexington. Her experience across different levels has given her a solid understanding of the game’s fundamentals, teamwork, and competitive spirit. Coach Taylor has nearly two years of coaching experience, mainly working with athletes ages 11–14.
While she specializes in defense and libero training, she emphasizes being knowledgeable in all positions. She believes a team runs most smoothly when every player understands each other’s roles and responsibilities on the court. Her favorite volleyball quote, by Caren Kemner, reflects her philosophy: “There are six people around the court, and it’s literally like a ballet. And fundamentals are at the core of everything you do.” Coach Taylor applies that same focus on fundamentals, teamwork, and harmony in every practice and with every athlete she mentors.

Nathalia is a passionate young coach entering her first year on the sidelines, with 6 years of competitive volleyball experience. At just 17 years old, she brings energy, relatability, and a strong understanding of the game to the athletes she mentors.
Throughout her playing career, Nathalia has gained experience in every position on the court, giving her a well-rounded perspective of team dynamics and responsibilities. While she is versatile, her strongest position is libero, a role that highlights her defensive instincts, court awareness, and leadership in the back row. Earlier this year, she committed to playing libero/setter for her volleyball career at Berea College.
Nathalia is driven by growth, resilience, and continuous improvement. Her favorite quote by Shoyo Hinata reflects her mindset: “Today you are defeated, but what will you become tomorrow?” She brings that same determination to her coaching, encouraging athletes to embrace challenges, learn from setbacks, and strive to become better every day.
